Dr Su-Hyun Kim is a neurologist based in the department of neurology at the National Cancer Center, Goyang, South Korea, where she has worked since 2017. Prior to taking up this position, she was a visiting doctor in the same department from 2013–2016.
Dr Kim obtained her medical degree in 2004 at Gachon University of Medicine and Science in Incheon, South Korea. She undertook her residency at the department of neurology at Gil Medical Center, also in Incheon, and completed it in 2009. In the same year, she was also awarded her master’s degree from Gachon University of Medicine and Science. Following additional fellowships in neuromuscular disorders at Seoul National University Hospital and neurology at the National Cancer Center, Dr Kim completed her PhD at Gachon University of Medicine and Science in 2017.
Dr Kim has been granted several awards for young researchers, including the Hang-Sul award for young researchers and the 5th LG Future medical scientist award, both in 2013. She has published prolifically in her areas of interest, which include multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica and neurological complications in patients with cancer.
